St Francis’ School is a Catholic coeducational Curriculum and Re-engagement in Education (CARE) School that caters for the needs of students and provides a caring and safe school environment for students who may find mainstream school situations difficult. There is a strong emphasis on functional Literacy and Numeracy, with teamwork and staff collaboration essential.

YOUTH WORKER
Part-Time (Two days a week – Tuesday & Wednesday)
Temporary
Commencing 18 August 2026
Concluding 31 December 2026

St Francis’ School is seeking applications for a part-time Youth Worker to begin Tuesday 18 August 2026.

The role will involve providing support services for the spiritual, social and emotional wellbeing of students by providing pastoral care and strategies that support the wellbeing of the broader school community.

Skills:

  • To be supportive of the Catholic ethos of St Francis’ School
  • The willingness to be a positive role model for students
  • Ability to work in a team environment

Desirable:

  • Senior First Aid Certificate

Essential:

  • Current Drivers Licence
  • A Certificate IV in Youth Work or Pastoral Care
  • CEWA Check of Employability Status which must be completed and submitted electronically with your application
  • A current National Police History Check must also be obtained. The appropriate Criminal History Record Check form is available from the Department of Education and Training website: www.det.wa.edu.au.
  • A current Working with Children Check – Application forms are available at certain Australia Post Outlets throughout the State. A list of participating Australia Post outlets can be found on the Australia Post web site at https://auspost.com.au/locate/

Requirements:

Applicants must submit a covering letter outlining previous experience as a Youth Worker and the reasons for your interest in the position, a completed Application Form including the names and contact details of three referees and a Curriculum Vitae.
