Pastoral Care

In order to be ‘ready to learn’, students need to first have their social and emotional needs met. At St Francis’ School, a Pastoral Care Team provides essential scaffolding and support around student welfare throughout the school day to met these basic needs.

St Francis’ School prides itself on its strong Pastoral Care Team, which includes two onsite Youth Workers and two onsite Social Workers. The Pastoral Care Team provides wrap around support for its young people include the use of ‘Care Plans’ and providing safe spaces to regulate, with the aim of students returning to the learning environment feeling ready to engage.

The St Francis’ School Pastoral Care Team works in conjunction with external agencies using a holistic approach to a young person’s educational journey to ensure the wellbeing of our students is always at the forefront of their journey through education.
